On my way back home, I extended my stopover in Hong-Kong. I was here for 24 hours last year, and I wanted to do some more serious sightseeing this time. My hotel was in Tsuen Wan, in the New Territories. I visited Kowloon the night I arrived, and the next morning, I hiked up into the green hills surrounding Tsuen Wan to see some of the nature that Hong Kong has to offer.

Walking up. I believe I ended up in Shing Mun Country Park.

Some houses at mountain base.

Village path leading up...

Pretty steep, rocky and slippery path. But worth the while. I saw so many different butterflies.

Cool water stream with some waterfalls. It was quite hot and very humid and I was sweating a lot. I relaxed my feet in it on the way down.

Old tomb in the mountain.

More of those tin-roof village houses.

Inside the Hong Kong Subway, or MTR. I took it from the Tsuen Wan station to visit Hong Kong Island. I got off at Central station on the red line.

Red taxis of HK.

Bank of China Building. One of the most recognized in the HK skyline. Up front, Chinese flag, flanked by that of HK.

Some older quarters of the island.

Times Square, Causeway Bay.

Same as above...

More people...

And signs.

Back in Kowloon, to see the famous HK island skyline from the pier. This is the Clock Tower.

Skyline number 1. My photo doesn't do justice to the grandiose scene that was in front of me...

Number 2...

Some kind of Chinese ship. I didn't see any junks (the sailships that we see in HK photos).

Guess who?

So many tourists.

Tseun Wan morning action.

Nice Park in Tsuen Wan.

Lion statues guarding the park entrance.

Inside park.

Old ancestral homes...

Weird and stinky food inside Tsuen Wan closed market.

More stinky dried creatures from the sea.
