Algiers: I finally went downtown during the day!!

I was leaving the next day. I took the whole day to visit Algiers and see some of its landmarks. Here are some memories. It was a beautiful day... The El-Jedid Mosque at the Place des Martyrs across from the Casbah
The Grand Post Office (La Grande Poste)
Didouche Mourad street. A great place to walk and shop. Mourad was one of the most famous resistance warriors during Algeria's War of Independence. He was a Kabyle.
White buildings on the seafront corniche.
Abd-el Hamid Ben Badis mosque
More white buildings.
Graffiti... Same as in any big city
Palm trees and cars...
Algiers seen from Notre-Dame d'Afrique
Notre-Dame d'Afrique being renovated
Another view
The Casbah
The Ketchoua mosque, originally built in 1612. It is located at the foot of the Casbah and is noted for its blend of Moorish and Byzantine architecture.
