Indonesia - Bali: Magical, Enchanting and Spiritual

On the road to Puri Lot Temple (Pure = temple)

One of the gazillion dogs of Bali. Here seen eating the offerings to the evil spirits or demons.

Both benevolent spirits and demons are respected in the predominantly Hindu culture of Bali, the only majoritarily non-Muslim island of Indonesia (Indonesia is made up of about 17,000 islands). Offerings to the good spirits are placed high up whereas those to the evil ones are placed on the ground. In general, offerings consist of flowers and some food.
